First Class...a success!!

Hi! Happy Saturday!
This week has flown by. I have been busy preparing for my first Stampin Up! class which I held today. Much to my surprise it went really well!! I was so nervous about it and stayed up til 1:30 am setting up and going over all of the cards we were going to make today. I was so impressed by how creative the group was and how wonderful their cards came out-especially since none of the ladies that came to the class ever used Stampin Up! products. Today was a good day!!

We made three cards and a post it note holder-so four projects in total.
I decided to do a card from a kit because my guests never stamped before. So we used a kit called Happenings Simply Created Card Kit- this kit is amazing for a first timer. It allowed the ladies to be creative and not feel overwhelmed with the idea of trying to create something out of thin air in a sense. Here is a picture of the card I had available for the group to view as a sample:

Next I gave everyone a blank 5x6 card and a piece of Whisper White card stock to stamp and from there I let everyone go hog wild stamping-since they were now "experienced" stampers. We used the stamp set Perfect Blend for this card and everyone had a blast creating this card. The hearts is used to stamp the sleeve of the coffee cup are from a new set called Something To Say.   Here is the sample I created to for the class to see:

We then moved on to what I called a more advanced card as we were going to be scoring the card and using a punch. We used the Scalloped Tag Topper punch-which I must say is an AWESOME punch that can be used to create all kinds of details for cards. This one was fun because they had the option to use Designer Series Paper Stacks we used the Moonlight Paper Stack which is a new one for the catalog.  Here are a couple of samples I had for the group:

And lastly we made a simple post it note holder and used Blackberry Bliss Card Stock which is one of the new In Colors- and a favorite for the group today! And decorated the outside with both wash tape (Retro Fresh was the set we used today) and the Owl Builder punch to create the owl. They really enjoyed creating the owl and giving him/her goofy eyes and just having fun. Here's the sample I made for the group:
Today was a very fun day. It was so nice to craft with other ladies and show them that they too are creative. We each have such different takes on creativity and the cards everyone made today truly displayed that. I am so happy to have had such a successful first class!
Thanks for reading and taking a peak at the cards we created today. I look forward to posting more pictures of things I create in the coming week...as I prepare for my girl cub's second birthday next weekend. So much to do so little time to craft!! But this Mama Bear is ready to take on the challenge!!
I hope everyone reading has a wonderful and blessed weekend!
Thanks for stopping by!
Mama Bear, out.
